MOVEMENT + COACHING
Monica has over 15 years experience teaching and coaching experience, working with professional actors, dancers and singers and young people. She works with actors to prepare for auditions and new roles by building the physicality of their characters, creature work and going through the fundamentals of specific dance styles. She supports singers in enhancing their performance for live events and in front of the camera. She facilitates workshops in contemporary dance technique, movement for actors and singers, choreography for stage and film and her own choreographic explorations.
Contemporary Dance for Professional Dancers.
Technique meets dynamic expression.
We go through a series of phrases that focus on transitions, finding the fullness in movement, dynamic flow and using the weight and breath to build momentum. Monica's movement practice focuses on the versatile body and expression. Sessions are designed to build strength, performance and body awareness, taking notes from contemporary techniques (Cunningham, Release, ballet), floorwork and gestural movement, to find balance through lines and curves. Physical, fluid and specific.
