Monica Nicolaides is a choreographer and movement director working in dance, theatre, opera and film. A featured choreographer for One Dance UK and Hiive’s ‘One-to-watch’, she received support for her work by Arts Council England, IdeasTap Innovators Fund, Candoco Dance Company, Hiive, Clarence Mews Studios and bbodance. Her portfolio includes commissions by Scottish Opera, British Medical Association, Peregrina EnChantica, Third Row Dance Company, Dance Digital, Hallidonto, Homs Arthaus, University of Cumbria, and several filmed works with Something Motel amongst others. Monica's practice is influenced by human behaviour and relationships in current society. Her work was featured on BBC Persia, performed at Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Offbeat Festival, The Place, The Blue Elephant Theatre and Edinburgh. Recent | Currently: Movement Director for The Poison Belt (Jermyn Street Theatre), Director for Acis & Galatea (Ryedale Festival Opera), Choreographer for One Shiling (Dance Film). Open to collaborations with creatives in Theatre, Fashion, Photography, Film and Technology. She looks for opportunities to create and experiment with other creatives. |
